FSM Backup to a remote filesystem:/mount
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:49:02 PM »
Hello.

Just curious and if anyone has done it:

1. Backup FSM via CLI to the remote mount point?
Or

Even better if we can initial a backup of FSM from the NIM server?

Cheers

Sashi,

Yes this is possible by doing an SFTP backup using the below command. Be sure whichever server you use to backup to has a functioning SFTP server.

backup -l sftp -s 192.168.240.221 -d /backup/fsm -u fsmbackup -p ibmibm

Where:
-l      is the type of backup (in this case SFTP)
-s     is the server which holds the SFTP server and will be your backup repository.
-d     is the directory where you would like the backups to go
-u     is the username
-p     is the password

In our lab we have a Linux server that has OpenSSH installed for SFTP and also use a weekly CRON job running from our NIM server to kick off the backup.

Let us know if this is what you're after.

Thanks!
